Film and Video Production 12 provides an introduction and overview of the four phases of filmmaking: Development; Pre-Production; Production and Post-Production. The course combines higher-level thinking skills, artistry and skills in technology to teach the planning and creation of films using electronic media. Students will discover the essence of story, experience the struggle to shape and express ideas in the visual medium, and explore a variety of roles in working with others to produce collaborative works. Students will write scripts, draw storyboards, shoot video, and digitally edit their work using professional quality tools and software. We will also explore the history of film and the film and video industry, both local and abroad.
Music 10 Collective is open to any student with a background in playing a musical instrument or any student who sings. Music 10 Collective it is not a continuation of the EMS instrumental band program.
 
Students interested in this course are expected to have had some previous experience singing or in playing a musical instrument. Students are not required to be proficient in reading music, nor are they required to have any knowledge of music theory.
 
In Music 10 Collective, through a variety of solo, and group based activities and assignments, students will gain understanding and skills in four principal areas of musical development: 1) Performance Skills (solo and ensemble), 2) Music Theory and Aural Skills, 3) Music Literacy and 4) Music Appreciation.
Music 10 Band is a continuation of the Eskasoni Middle School instrumental band program. Students interested in this course are expected to have previous experience playing a band instrument, be proficient in reading music and have basic knowledge of music theory. In Music 10B through a variety of solo, and group based activities and assignments, students will expand their skills and knowledge in four principal areas of musical development: 1) Performance Skills (both solo and in ensemble), 2) Music Theory and Aural Skills, 3) Music Literacy and 4) Music Appreciation.
